American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics

The American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics , abbreviated ASPET , is a scientific organization that deals with all aspects of pharmacological research. It is based in Bethesda, Maryland . The society was founded in 1908 by John Jacob Abel together with 18 pharmacologists. ASPET is one of the founding members of the " Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology " (FASEB). The society has 4800 members who carry out pharmacological research at universities, in industry and at government institutions.
