Ametrine , also known by the trade names bolivianite , amecitrine and trystine , is a mineral variety of quartz and a rare combination of purple amethyst and golden yellow citrine in a single stone.

Ametrine is processed into gemstones and has been openly traded since 1989.

The most important mining areas for natural ametrine are Brazil ( Rio Grande do Sul ) and Bolivia .

Gem therapy

In gemstone therapy , the amethyst is ascribed the subjective effect of releasing dense blockages, relieving pain, helping with depression, stress, digestive problems and insomnia, relieving fears and strengthening the immune system. There is no scientific evidence for such an effect.
