Amie Fabureh

Amie Fabureh (also Faburay , Fabureh Dampha or Fabureh-Dampha ; born around 1970 ) is a Gambian agricultural scientist and politician.

Life

Fabureh earned a master's degree in horticulture ( Horticulture ) at the University of Reading in the UK. Soon afterwards she started to work in the Gambian Ministry of Agriculture and worked in different parts of the country.

From 2007 to 2009 she was a Training Officer in the Department of Extension Services of the National Agricultural Development Agency . She was then deputy head until 2017, from 2017 head of technical services in horticulture ( Horticulture Technical Services ). One of the tasks was to support community gardens.

Around 2018 she was chair of the National Women's Council (NWC).

On March 27, 2019, she was appointed Minister of Agriculture to President Adama Barrow's cabinet . At the time of her appointment, she had worked for the ministry for over 30 years.
