The series allegedly accompanies the Amish "Lebanon" Levi King Stoltzfus and his gang, who ensure law and order in Lancaster County , Pennsylvania according to their ideas, but they do not shy away from the use of force.

criticism

The series has been heavily criticized by leading Amish scholars such as Donald Kraybill, who teaches at Elizabethtown College and Donald Weaver-Zercher, who is a professor at Messiah College. Kraybill calls Amish Mafia “a fabrication” (“invention” or “story of lies”) and says: “My own view is that this is trash TV. To call these shows documentaries is a fraudulent lie. " (In my opinion, television is junk. Calling such programs documentaries is a malicious deception.) Donald Weaver-Zercher sums up the criticism as follows: "There is no Amish mafia."
