Las Vegas rampage 2014

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The rampage in Las Vegas took place on June 8, 2014. Two police officers and a civilian were killed by a militant neo-Nazi couple. The two murderers then killed themselves.

Sequence of events

The two policemen Igor Soldo and Alyn Beck were having lunch at the CiCi pizzeria in Las Vegas on Whitsunday 2014 when Jerad and Amanda Miller opened fire on the two policemen and shot them at close range. They stole the guns of the dead police officers and left a note on the scene with the words “The beginning of the revolution”. Then they wrapped the police in the Gadsden flag with the words “Don't tread on me” and a swastika flag . The two fled to a Wal-Mart , where, with guns drawn, “Get out of here! This is a revolution. The police are about to come ”shouted. There Amanda Miller shot and killed a man who had sneaked up on Jerad but had not noticed her. A shooting ensued with the approaching police, who pushed the couple to the back of the supermarket. Both were hit several times. Amanda Miller then shot her husband and then shot herself in the head. Even a surveillance video of the supermarket published by the Daily Mail has not yet been able to determine whether Jerad Miller died of his injuries or of his wife being shot.

prehistory

Jerad Miller was a multiple criminal car thief who was suspected in two states. His wife was considered a "good girl" who was a slave to him. The two moved to Las Vegas a few months before the crime and were already known to the police. The couple had probably long been a kind of suicide pact. Both were known as militant neo-Nazis and government opponents who spread right-wing extremist propaganda via Facebook and various pamphlets . The two are seen as lone perpetrators, but refer to themselves as “sovereign citizens”, a growing group of mostly right-wing autonomists who hate the government. The two had relationships with Cliven Bundy , a militant rancher who refused to pay dues for his cattle.

The act had been planned for a long time. Among other things, they tried to indoctrinate their neighbors and announced a second " Columbine ". However, the neighbor dismissed this as a spinning mill.
