Cupid of Maastricht
Amor von Maastricht (* in the 8th or 9th century in Aquitaine ; † in the 9th century [location unknown]) was a person of the Roman Catholic Church .
According to legend, Cupid came to the tomb of Servatius in Maastricht , where he settled and preached the Gospel to the population . Tradition also ascribes the founding of the Munsterbilzen monastery to him.
Amor has been venerated in Munsterbilzen since the 10th century , but the relics come from Amor von Amorbach .
He lived as a hermit until the end of his life .
