Amparo Ángel (* before 1973 in Popayán ) is a Colombian pianist and composer .

Life

Ángel had piano lessons at the Conservatory of the Universidad del Cauca from the age of five . She continued teaching with Luisa Manighetti as well as with Lucía Pérez and Eduardo de Heredia at the Conservatory of the Universidad Nacional, where she obtained a diploma as a concert pianist in 1973. She also took composition lessons with Bias Emilio Atehortúa and with Luis Antonio Escobar , her future husband.

Ángel teaches music analysis, composition and instrumentation at the Universidad Sergio Arboleda . She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Orquestra Sinfónica de Sao Paulo , the Orquestra Sinfónica de Guatemala , the Orquestra Sinfónica de Colombia , the Orquestra Filarmónica de Bogotá and the Orquestra Camerana Bogotá and played the piano works of Luis Antonio Escobar, who gave her several dedicated to his works.

Ángel composed music for children, piano works, chamber music and orchestral works.
