Amphithea (wife of Autolycus)
Amphithea ( Greek Ἀμφιθέα ) is a female figure in Greek mythology .
According to Homer, she was the wife of Autolycus , mother of Antikleia and grandmother of Odysseus . When, as a young man, he visited his grandfather Autolykos on Mount Parnassus to collect promised gifts, Amphithea hugged her grandson; Autolycus and his sons also gave Odysseus a friendly welcome. According to Tzetzes , Amphithea was also the mother of Aisimos , the father of Sinon .
