history
The Amsterdam G's were founded in 2011 under the name Amsterdam Capitals as the successor club to the professional club Amstel Tijgers and began playing in the Eredivisie and the North Sea Cup .
In the summer of 2012, the new club was on the verge of dissolution due to financial problems, before the game operations for the 2012/13 season could be secured with a fundraising campaign and a new main sponsor. The new main sponsor, an energy drink manufacturer, was added to the club name with its product Gangster as an abbreviation. After the end of the 2013 season, the team that had finished last in the honor division withdrew from the professional field.
