Barenburg office

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bahrenburg office was a historical administrative area of the County of Hoya , later of the Principality of Calenberg and the Kingdom of Hanover with its seat in Barenburg .

history

The office goes back to Barenburg on the road from Bremen to Minden, first mentioned in 1285. His responsibility was limited to the eponymous patch and some surrounding goods. Since the castle in Barenburg was destroyed by fire in 1706, it has been administered jointly with the Ehrenburg office and de facto downgraded to the rank of an official bailiwick. In 1823 the offices of Barenburg and Ehrenburg were also officially merged into one office of Ehrenburg-Barenburg (from 1852 only referred to as the office of Ehrenburg). In 1859 it became part of the Freudenberg office .
