The Gümse office was a historical administrative area of ​​the Principality of Lüneburg .

The Gümse office emerged from a complex of property belonging to the von dem Berge family within the Principality of Lüneburg, which was redeemed in 1593 by Duke Ernst II of Braunschweig and Lüneburg and ceded to Duke Heinrich, who resided in Dannenberg . The official parish consisted of the Vorwerk Gümse , eight villages of the Marschvogtei and nine villages of the Hausvogtei. The main town was the village of Quickborn .
