Amy Dunker

Amy Dunker (born December 23, 1964 in Jackson , Minnesota ) is an American composer, trumpeter and music teacher.

Dunker played the trumpet in her hometown high school band. She received a bachelor's degree in music education from Morningside College , followed by a master's degree in trumpet at the University of South Dakota . She then studied composition at Butler University with Michael Schelle and Stanley DeRusha and at the University of Missouri with James Mobberley , Chen Yi and Robert L. Cooper . She teaches as Professor of Music Theory, Composition and Brass Music at Clarke University .

In addition to choral works, Dunker has composed pieces for chamber music, especially wind ensembles and solo instruments. Her works were u. a. performed in the USA, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Italy and recorded on the labels ERM media , NextAGem and Centerpoint .
