Triskell (formerly An Triskell ) is a French folk group from Brittany , which mainly interprets traditional Breton songs. The name means " Triskele " (or earlier The Triskele ).

history

The group was founded in 1970 by twin brothers Pol and Hervé Quefféléant together with Alan Morizur.

The brothers form the constant in frequently changing line-ups - e.g. B. Patrick Lehoux (bassist), Jean-Louis Nouvel (piano and guitar), Pol Brief (violin), Patrick Autorin (piano and guitar), Mickaël Cozien (bagpipe) - and collaborations with other musicians - These include Alan Stivell , Gilles Servat and Paco Diez.

One of the main instruments of this group is the Celtic harp, which experienced a musical renaissance with Alan Stivell at the end of the 1960s. Other typical instruments are bombard, bagpipe and violin.

In Germany, An Triskell was best known for the theme music Gwenn Glass Ruz for the TV series Unter der Trikolore , which was broadcast in 1981.
