Anacleto Verrecchia (born September 15, 1926 in Vallerotonda / Province of Frosinone, † February 4, 2012 in Turin ) was an Italian philosopher, cultural critic and essayist.

life and work

Verrecchia received his doctorate in German from the University of Turin and deepened his studies during repeated visits to Germany, especially in Berlin, where he was almost at home. Later he worked for many years at the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna. Verrecchia was the author of numerous books which received considerable attention in Italy and abroad. The author saw himself as an apolitical person: Politics is a low form of mental activity. He repeatedly grappled with Schopenhauer in particular, as well as Nietzsche and Lichtenberg . He lived in Turin for a long time.
