Analamazaotra Forest Station ( Parc Mitsinjo ) is a protected area in Madagascar , which is connected to the Analamazoatra Reserve and the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park and administered by a local community. It is located in the Alaotra-Mangoro region in the east-central part of the island. The reserve consists of 710 hectares of rainforest and renatured habitats. It is managed on the basis of a contract between the local community-run Mitsinjo organization and the Ministry of Water and Forests . Much of the Forest Station consists of reforested forest that has been regenerated by a Habitat Restoration Project . David Attenborough filmed the documentary series Madagascar on the reservation for the BBC in 2011 , including a scene in which a family of striped ducks cross a stream.

The Forest Station is characterized by a high level of biodiversity. There are at least seven groups of Indris on the reserve, two of which are used to humans and are commonly seen by tourists. In addition, there are mouse lemurs , Büschelohrmakis , dwarf lemur , finger Animals , Brown Makis , Eastern bamboo lemur and small tooth-lemurs .

At least six types of tenreks can be found ( large tenrek , large hedgehog tenrek , true striped tenrek , true rice burrower , small tenrek and water tenrek ).

The reserve is also known for its herpetofauna . More than 100 species of frogs are found within a 30 km radius. There are also at least five types of chameleons ( Brookesia superciliaris - brown dwarf chameleon), Parsons chameleon , short-horned chameleon ( Calumma brevicorne ), Calumma nasutum and Calumma gastrotaenia , as well as the Madagascar dog-headed boa ( Sanzinia madagascariensis ).
