Anatoli Ivanovich Antonov ( Russian Анатолий Иванович Антонов ; born May 15, 1955 in Omsk ) is a Russian diplomat, former Russian politician and currently Russia's ambassador to the United States.
From February 2011 to December 2016, Antonov was Russia's Deputy Minister of Defense.
Since February 2015, he has been on the lists of persons sanctioned by the European Union or Canada for the Crimean crisis , so he is not allowed to enter the EU or Canada, not through and any accounts there are frozen.
On August 21, 2017, he was appointed Russian Ambassador to the United States by decree of President Putin . He started working on site on September 1, 2017.
