The leaded glass window depicting the Adoration of the Magi is located in the parish church of the Assumption in Landsberg am Lech ( Bavaria ).

history

The window with the representation of the Magi was installed in the first glazing phase around 1480. It has the field dimensions of approx. 49 cm high and 84 cm wide. The base zone under the adoration, the top row of battlements and the lancet tips are modern additions.

description

The window shows the adoration of the Christ Child , who is seated on Mary's lap , by the three kings. Joseph stands behind Maria and in the background you can see the stable with ox and donkey. The kings bring precious gifts, one kneels before Mary and his crown lies at his feet.

In the tracery you can see the thorn-crowned head of Christ, which is surrounded by a halo. Rose blossoms can be seen in the other tracery panels.
