In the porn industry, a fluffer ( fluff girl or fluff boy ) is a person who ensures that a male performer gets an erection at the right time . The act itself is known as fluffing .

The so-called fluffers used to be almost always regular members of the crew in porn film productions . Their job was to help the male performers get an erection. Usually they did this through oral or manual stimulation of the penis . Some professional actresses started out as fluffers. It is currently assumed that the use of chemical substances such as B. Sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra, for example ) has reduced the frequency of use of fluffers.

In today's film productions, there are usually no more fluffers for cost reasons. This role is now played by the respective film partners in heterosexual porn films. However, it is not uncommon for the female stars of the industry to demand that they do not have to fluff themselves. This task is then partly taken over by the supporting actresses . In the gay porn industry, performers mostly fluff each other, with one performer picking another he finds attractive.
