André-Marie Jerumanis

André-Marie Jerumanis (born May 27, 1956 in Leuven ) is a Belgian Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

He graduated from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1982 with a degree in medicine and a bachelor's degree in philosophy (Leuven 1983). He studied theology in Leuven, Friborgo and Rome . After ordination in 1985 and a doctorate in moral theology at the Pontificia Accademia Alfonsiana in 1998, he became a member of the theological research group Hypsosis of the Pontificia Accademia Alfonsiana. He is a member of the Bioethics Commission and Vice President of the Theological Commission of the Swiss Bishops' Conference. He is President of the Bioethics Committee of the Lugano Clinic in Lugano . He has carried out various researches in the field of fundamental moral theology on the importance of the aesthetic dimension for moral action and the christological dimension of morality, with the thoughts of Hans Urs von Balthasar particularly taken into account.

He teaches as a professor of moral theology at the Theological Faculty of Lugano , where he is director of the Hans Urs von Balthasar Study Center.
