André Breitbarth

André Breitbarth (born April 6, 1990 in Gifhorn ) is a German judoka who competes in the weight class over 100 kg.

The 2005 German youth champion won the silver medal at the U17 European Championships in 2006. In 2008 Breitbarth won bronze at the U20 European Championships, and in 2009 bronze was added at the U20 World Championships. In 2010 he won the U23 European Championships, in 2011 and 2012 he received the bronze medal. In 2013 and 2014 Breitbarth was German champion. At the European Championships in 2014, he won the bronze medal both in the individual standings and with the team. In 2015 Breitbarth lost to Thomas Pille in the final of the German Championships . In the 2015 European Games Breitbarth reached the seventh place in the World Championships in Astana he placed fifth. At his first Olympic participation in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro , he was eliminated in the first round.

Breitbarth starts for the SFV Europa Braunschweig .
