Otto Roche

Otto Roche (born June 30, 1929 in Neisse , Silesia ; † November 13, 1999 in Wuppertal ) was a German government school director .

Life

After studying in Leipzig , Erlangen and Cologne , he became a trainee lawyer in Wuppertal. He then taught German and history as a grammar school teacher at the Carl Duisberg grammar school .

In 1961, on the occasion of the start of the construction of the Berlin Wall, he founded the Political Round Wuppertal, which became a fixed program of the Wuppertal Adult Education Center and which still exists today.

Since 1969 he was director of the Wuppertal evening grammar school and in September 1976 founded the Bergische Kolleg in Wuppertal.

Otto Roche married Ingeborg Nebel on July 12, 1968, and the marriage had two children.

Due to his experience in the second education pathway , he was entrusted with the school supervision of the further education colleges of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and worked until his retirement in 1992 as the head government school director ( department head ) at the school college in Düsseldorf . From 1980 Roche held a teaching position in the history department at the Bergische Universität in Wuppertal .

Roche was chairman of the Bergische Kunstgenossenschaft (BKG) from 1990 to 1997 .
