André Diniz (born September 5, 1975 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian cartoonist .

Since 2001, he has won the Troféu HQ Mix , the most important Brazilian comic award , in the categories “Best Writer” and “Best Publisher” (with his independent publisher Nona Arte) several times . One of Diniz's most prominent works is the graphic novel Morro da Favela , which tells the story of the Brazilian photographer Maurício Horta, who was born and raised in Morro da Providência , one of the oldest favelas in Rio de Janeiro . This graphic novel won the 2012 Troféu HQ Mix as “Best Special Edition” and has also been published in Portugal , Great Britain (as Picture a Favela ) and France (as Photo de la Favela ).

In 2018, Diniz released a comic book adaptation for The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and the graphic novel Olimpo Tropical (starring Laudo Ferreira Jr. ), both of which appeared in Brazil and Portugal.
