André Henri Mirau (* 1923 or 1924 ; † before April 2007) is a French scientist who became known for the invention of important optical measuring methods.
Life
From 1943 to 1946, AH Mirau attended the École supérieure d'optique in Paris, a private engineering school financed by the French national education ministry. He graduated from school in 1946.
Services
One of André Mirau's most important inventions was the interference objective known today as the Mirau interferometer, which is used to characterize microscopic surface properties. Between 1949 and 1967, he filed around 14 successful patent applications. These included an opener for medical glass ampoules and a length measuring device .
