André Michelin

André Michelin (born January 16, 1853 - April 4, 1931 ) was a French industrialist.

Life

André Michelin graduated as an engineer from the École Centrale Paris in 1877.

With his brother Édouard Michelin , he founded the Michelin & Cie company in 1888 , which began producing the first pneumatic tires in 1891 .

He also introduced the Michelin Guide in 1900 and published a 47-sheet map of France in 1910, which was folded according to the accordion principle.
