Andrés Abad y Antón (* before 1885, † after 1910) was an Argentine composer, conductor, stage director and tenor of Spanish origin.

Life

Andrés Abad Antón settled in Buenos Aires in 1885. Here he composed the music for various theater productions. He performed various zarzuelas and directed several theater companies such as the Teatro Mayo and the Italian company at the Teatro San Martin . At the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the May Revolution , he conducted a choir of 1,500 singers with soloists and orchestra on May 25th and 27th, 1910 in the Plaza del Mayo in Buenos Aires.
