Arno noise bag

Arno Rauschenbag (* 1971 in Düsseldorf ) is a German physicist who deals with experimental quantum optics.

Rauschenasche conducted research under Serge Haroche at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and received his doctorate in 2001 from the University of Paris VI . At that time he was working on cavity quantum electrodynamics with Rydberg atoms. He then worked with Dieter Meschede at the University of Bonn, was a professor at the University of Mainz and from 2010 professor and group leader at the Atomic Institute (ATI) of the Vienna University of Technology . There he was a founding member of the Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology. In 2018 he received a Humboldt Professorship at the Humboldt University of Berlin and at the newly created Center for Photonic Quantum Technologies in the Science and Technology Park Berlin-Adlershof.

He deals with nanophotonics, nanofibers, hybrid quantum systems (coupling of light from very thin glass fibers - with a diameter smaller than the wavelength of the light that passes through them - and atoms that are captured by the interaction with the light on the surface) and optical Microresonators.

In 2006 he received the European Young Investigator Award from the European Science Foundation, received a Marie Curie Excellence Award and in 2014 an ERC Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council.
