Philipp Maderthaner

Philipp Maderthaner (born August 6, 1981 ) is an Austrian entrepreneur, campaign expert and keynote speaker. In 2012 he founded Campaigning Bureau , a technology and campaign company based in Vienna and Berlin . In 2019 Maderthaner founded Business Gladiators GmbH based in Vienna.

Life

Maderthaner holds a degree in international business administration from the University of Vienna . Between 2004 and 2011 he was responsible for campaigns for the Austrian People's Party at state and federal level in various functions . In 2011 he turned his back on politics and founded “Austria's first campaigning agency” in April 2012 with the campaigning bureau. The focus of the company is on the Movement Campaigning , which he developed and inspired by US grassroots movements . In 2013, his company entered into a know-how and technology partnership with Barack Obama's campaign agency Blue State Digital . The following year Maderthaner received the “Rising Star Award” from the US magazine Campaigns & Elections , a kind of foreign Oscar for campaign experts. The Campaigning Bureau has received nine Reed Awards since 2016 (as of November 2019). Maderthaner is regarded as the "Chancellor maker" behind Sebastian Kurz , whose election campaign he was in charge of in 2017.

In 2018 Philipp Maderthaner was named Austrian Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young . In autumn 2019 Maderthaner founded Business Gladiators GmbH with the aim of helping entrepreneurs to be successful in a changed time. Around Philipp Maderthaner, the company is developing an online platform for marketing knowledge products, training, empowerment and management consulting.

In 2020 it became known through a data leak that Maderthaner was considering a collaboration with the controversial data analysis company Cambridge Analytica. According to the company, there was no concrete collaboration after contacting us.

In the course of the Corona crisis, he was also mentioned in critical comments by opposition parties that he was also involved in government PR activities in connection with the Red Cross, which he himself denies.
