Andrea Bussmann (* 1980 in Toronto ) is a Canadian director , screenwriter , film producer and camerawoman .

Life

Bussmann studied social anthropology at York University in her hometown of Toronto. There she also obtained her master's degree in film production in 2009. In 2011 she released her first short film, He Whose Face Gives No Light . In this she made the shooting for a feature film on the subject. Instead of a making-of , Bussmann created a portrait of the old Mexican amateur actors. She followed up on this constellation with her first feature film. Bussmann shot Tales of Two Who Dreamt together with Nicolás Pereda , which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2016 .

Bussmann is married to Nicolás Pereda.
