Andrea Ghiurghi (born September 15, 1966 in Varese ) is a former Italian beach volleyball player .

Career

Ghiurghi won the bronze medal at the first European championship in 1993 with Dionisio Lequaglie . In 1996 he took part in the Olympic tournament in Atlanta with his new partner Nicola Grigolo . There the two Italians lost to the later gold medal winners Kiraly / Steffes (USA) and the Norwegians Kvalheim / Maaseide and finished in 13th place.

In the next few years Ghiurghi formed a duo with Riccardo Lione . At the 1997 World Cup , however, he competed with Marco Solustri and did not get past 33rd place. In 2000 he played his last open tournament. In 2005 he came back to beach volleyball and played some satellite and challenger tournaments with Gianni Mascagna .
