Andrea Grossegger

Andrea Grossegger (born October 20, 1963 in Hard , Vorarlberg ) is a former Austrian biathlete .

To this day, Grossegger is the only Austrian biathlete who has ever won a medal at world championships. The Vorarlberg resident , who lives in Saalfelden , achieved this success at the first women's biathlon world championships in Chamonix , France , in 1984 , when she won the bronze medal in the sprint race over then 5 km behind the Russian Wenera Tschernyschowa and the Norwegian Sanna Grønlid .

Together with her husband Reinhard Grossegger, she now looks after one of the most successful biathlon clubs in Austria, HSV Saalfelden. Her son Sven Grossegger is also a biathlete.
