Andreas Frewer

Andreas Frewer (* 1966 ) is a German medical ethicist . Frewer teaches at the Institute for the History and Ethics of Medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .

Life

Frewer studied philosophy, medical history and human medicine, among others in Munich, Erlangen and Berlin. From 1994 to 1998 he worked as a doctor in internal medicine at the Virchow Clinic of the Charité and received his doctorate in 1998 from the Free University of Berlin . From 1998 to 2002 Frewer worked as a research assistant in the Department of Ethics and History of Medicine at the University of Göttingen. In 2002 he was appointed junior professor at the Hannover Medical School . In 2006 he completed his habilitation in the subject of the history, theory and ethics of medicine. In the same year he took over the provisional management of the professorship for ethics in medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg , the following year management.
