Andreas Fuchs (ancient orientalist)
Andreas Fuchs (born September 6, 1960 in Mannheim ) is a German ancient orientalist .
Life
Since 1980 he has studied Assyriology, Arabic and ethnology at the University of Göttingen , where he received his doctorate in 1993 . From 1994 to 1998 he was a research assistant at the Chair for Ancient Near Eastern Studies at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . The German Research Foundation funded him from 1998 to 1999 with a habilitation grant . From 1999 to 2004 he was a research assistant at the University of Tübingen , where he on 17 November 2004 habilitation was. Since 2004 he has been a professor at the Ancient Near Eastern Department of the University of Tübingen, which awarded him the title of adjunct professor in 2008 .
His research focuses on royal inscriptions and letters of the Neo-Assyrian period , cultural history of the ancient Near East at this epoch and the historical topography and the Military History Ancient Near East .
