Arabic studies

The Arabic (Arabic Philology ) is the science of the Arabic language and Arabic literature . Arabic studies are part of oriental studies and closely related to Islamic studies . In German university policy, Arabic studies is classified as a minor subject .

The linguistic part deals with the various language levels of Arabic such as Old Arabic , Classical Standard Arabic , Middle Arabic , Modern Standard Arabic and its dialects .

As literary studies, Arabic studies researches Arabic poetry and prose literature from the pre-Islamic period to the present day and the religious, philosophical, historical and geographical literature of Islamic culture as well as Jewish and Christian literature in the Arabic language.
