Andreas Krause (forest scientist)

Andreas Krause (* 1974 in Königs Wusterhausen ) is a German forest scientist , professor at the University of Hamburg and, since March 1, 2020, director of the Thünen Institute for Wood Research.

Live and act

Krause studied forest sciences from 1994 to 1999 at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . After graduating, he worked as a trainee lawyer at the Lower Saxony State Forests until 2001 . From 2001 to 2006 he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Wood Biology and Wood Technology at the University of Göttingen and was awarded a Dr. forest. PhD (topic: wood modification with N-methylol crosslinkers ). During this time, Krause was also employed as a project coordinator for various projects at the University of Göttingen until 2007. From 2007 to 2013 he was also team leader for the wood-plastic-composites division in Göttingen. In 2013 he followed the call to Hamburg and since then, together with Jörg B. Ressel , has held the chair for wood physics at the Center for Wood Management . In March 2020, Krause became director of the Thünen Institute for Wood Research.
