Andreas Kuno Richter (* 1959 ) is a German journalist, author and director.

Life

Having grown up in the GDR and after completing his school days, Richter decided to train as an able seaman in deep sea fishing. He then went on to study journalism at the University of Leipzig. For ten years he worked for radio as an editor, presenter, reporter and author.

In his work as a journalist on GDR television , he does not belong to any party. After the German-German reunification, Andreas Kuno Richter was given the chance to study at the Hamburg Henri Nannen School of Journalism on a scholarship. At the same time he produced mainly political real satires and documentaries in the editorial team of the East Berlin youth television program ELF99 .

During this phase I made contact with Roland Garve , a German dentist, ethnomedicist, globetrotter and documentarist. Richter has accompanied Garve on film since 1994 on his travels to the rainforest regions of the world. Several nature documentaries were created.

From 1992 to 2002 Richter was a partner in Noahfilm, after which he was a partner in Armadafilm for two years. He has been a freelance screenwriter and director since 2004.

In June 2011, Andreas Kuno Richter received the Bavarian TV Prize for the documentary Der Verrat .
