Andreas Martin (lutenist)
Andreas Martin (* 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German lutenist .
He studied classical guitar with Mario Sicca ( Musikhochschule Stuttgart ) and Ruggero Chiesa (Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan) as well as English, Romance studies and philosophy at the University of Heidelberg .
At the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel he began studying the lute with Eugen Dombois, Hopkinson Smith and Peter Croton and attended master classes with Emma Kirkby, Anthony Rooley and Nigel North.
He has appeared on German and British television and plays at numerous festivals. Andreas Martin's 2004 recording of Bach received international praise and recognition.
