Andreas Meisner

Andreas Meisner (* 1959 ) is a German organist and church musician.

Meisner studied church music at the Cologne University of Music . He passed the A-exam in 1984 and the artistic maturity examination in 1986 for the organ. He supplemented his training with master classes with Marie-Claire Alain and Wolfgang Rübsam . In 1985 Meisner was appointed organist at Altenberg Cathedral . He also directs the Cologne Oratorio Choir and the Cologne Small Choir. He teaches choir conducting at the Cologne University of Music and Dance .

Meisner handed over the leadership of the oratorio choir in summer 2018. On May 26, 2018, a “farewell concert” took place in the Cologne Philharmonic with a performance of Antonin Dvořák's Requiem .
