Andreas Michalitz (born July 11, 1968 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian long-distance runner . He won three Austrian championship titles in the 24-hour race and in the 100 km run in the individual and team classifications, holds two Austrian records (144-hour run 784.004 km and 48-hour run 375 km) and the world record in "climbing stairs in full gear" (82,301 steps in 24 hours), he is a member of the Austrian ultra-running national team.

Athletic career

Andreas Michalitz started running in 2002. A book about the extreme runner Christian Schiester inspired him to start the ultra run. In 2015 he took 3rd place at the 6 Days World Trophy in Hungary and improved the Austrian 6-day record to 784.004 km.

In 2016 he then set a new 48-hour record (375 km) and won the Austrian 24-hour championship in Irdning with 227.6 kilometers and reached the qualification standard of the Austrian national team for the European championship in France.
