Andreas Wagner (* 1960 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German politician. He was a member of the national board of the WASG . In April 2006 he announced his departure from the WASG. For a short time he worked as a consultant for the NPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament.

Life

The trained typesetter Andreas Wagner from Gelsenkirchen said he was already politically active as a schoolboy and was active as an apprentice in what was then the IG Druck und Papier . Since 1988 he has been working as an independent sales representative in the insurance field service. In 1992 he moved to Chemnitz, Saxony, where he was one of the co-founders of the “Work and Social Justice” initiative and the “Anger becomes resistance” alliance. At the WASG's 1st federal party conference in Dortmund, Wagner was elected to the extended federal executive committee.

In April 2006, his announcement that he would become a member of the NPD caused a nationwide media sensation. He told the Leipziger Volkszeitung that the party leadership had betrayed and sold the WASG idea. The party programs of the WASG and NPD are "similar in many respects." At the same time, it became known that the NPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament would like to hire Wagner as a social policy advisor.

The WASG then declared that it wanted to exclude Wagner from the party. Although he is still formally a member of the federal executive committee, he has not had any contact with the WASG for a long time. After Wagner's intentions became known, the Saxon WASG regional association initiated urgent proceedings for his exclusion from the party. At the same time, the WASG withdrew Andreas Wagner all rights as a party member because of the announced participation in a right-wing extremist parliamentary group.

According to information from the Sächsische Zeitung, the judiciary was investigating Wagner for dangerous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty. With the judgment before the criminal chamber of the Chemnitz district court on October 17, 2007, he was acquitted, the judgment is final.
