Andreas Winkler (racing driver)

Andreas Winkler (born August 28, 1963 ) is a German civil engineer and automobile racing driver .

The racing career

Andreas Winkler began his motorsport career in 1990 as a driving instructor. In 2006 he drove a BMW 130i for the first time in the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring endurance race. His best results so far in this racing series were achieved with the Schubert Motorsport Team in 2008 with an SP10 class win and in 2009 with a VD1T class win.

Winkler has been driving 24-hour races at the Nürburgring since 2008 . In 2009 he and the Schubert Motorsport team on a BMW 320d came in 28th overall.

In 2013 he drove a BMW E82 GTS in 77th place overall and 4th place in the SP8 class ranking.

The entrepreneur

Winkler owns an engineering office for statics and building construction.
