Andrew Bujalski

Andrew Bujalski (* 1977 in Boston ) is an American independent film director.

Career

Bujalski made his debut as a writer and director in 2002 with "Funny Ha Ha", followed in 2005 by "Mutual Appreciation" - with both films he became a central representative of a young, independent do-it-yourself US film scene, according to the tone and importance of the dialogues often called "Mumblecore". Bujalski, who graduated from Harvard's Department of Visual and Environmental Studies , worked as a substitute teacher, bookseller and writer on studio projects. "Beeswax" is his third feature film.

style

Bujalski's feature films were shot by Austrian cameraman Matthias Grunsky . The first three of his films in particular are stylistically characterized by the use of handheld cameras and the cast of amateur actors and are assigned to the Mumblecore genre.
