Andrew Montague is an Irish politician and was Lord Mayor of Dublin from June 2011 to June 2012 .

Montague studied Veterinary Medicine at University College Dublin , where he received his Masters in 2000 .

He is a member of the Irish Labor Party and was elected to the Dublin City Council for the first time in June 2004 . June 2009 he was re-elected. On June 27, 2011, he was elected the new Lord Mayor of Dublin ( Lord Mayor of Dublin ) with 29 votes , replacing Gerry Breen . The independent Ciarán Perry received 10 votes and the Sinn Féin candidate Larry O'Toole received 5 votes . Montague had already served as Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin from June 2004 to June 2005 .

On June 25, 2012, Naoise Ó Muirí was elected as his successor by the Fine Gael .

In addition to his political activities, Montague works as a web designer .
