Andrew Norriss (born October 18, 1947 in Dingwall , Scotland ) is a British author of children's books .

Norriss attended Trinity College in Dublin and then worked as a teacher. In 1982 he began to work as a writer.

For Aquila he received the 1997 Whitbread Book Award in the Best Children's Book category and a Nestlé Smarties Book Prize in 1998 .

Norriss lives in England. He is married and has two children.
