Andrew S. Clarkin
Andrew Sylvester Clarkin (* 1891 in Dublin ; † November 23, 1955 there ) was an Irish politician.
Clarkin, originally from Dublin , joined Sinn Féin in 1911 . He was also a member of the Irish Volunteers . In 1916 he took part in the Easter Rising .
In 1944, Clarkin was elected to the Seanad Éireann , the upper house of the Irish Parliament , and was a member until his death. In addition, he was for many years a member of the City Council of Dublin and held as such from 1951 to 1953 the office of Lord Mayor of Dublin .
