Anelija Georgiewa Atanasowa ( Bulgarian Анелия Георгиева Атанасова ; born July 1, 1982 in Stara Sagora ) is a Bulgarian pop folk singer performing under the stage name Anelija ( Анелия ) . Her debut album Pogledni me w otschite ( Погледни ме в очите / “Look into my eyes”) was a huge commercial success in Bulgaria.

biography

Anelija was born in 1982 in the city of Stara Sagora. She finished elementary school in her hometown. Already in the second grade she sang in the children's trio "Sangesfreudige kleine Thracians" (Bulgarian Гласовити тракийчета / Glasowiti Trakijtscheta) - her hometown is in the Upper Thracian Plain . In 1994 the trio recorded their first record of folklore songs from Thrace. Later she sang in the choir "Sagortsche" (bulg. Загорче / dt. The little ones from Stara Sagora).

In 1996 she was accepted into the National Music School for Folklore "Philip Koutev" in Kotel . She finished this in 2001 in the field of " Gadulka " (string instrument). In 2005 she passed the entrance exams to the National Music Academy in Sofia . Since then she has been studying "Pop and Jazz Singing".
