Angela Tong
Angela Tong ( Chinese 湯 盈盈 / 汤 盈盈 , Pinyin Tāng Yíng Yíng , Jyutping : Tong1 Jing4 Jing4 ; born June 30, 1975 in Montreal ) is a Canadian actress of Chinese origin. She works mainly in Hong Kong .
Tong was born in Montreal, but has family roots in Shunde , a city in the Chinese province of Guangdong . After winning a local beauty pageant, she represented Montreal in the 1995 Miss Chinese International Pageant , a contest sponsored by Hong Kong's leading television broadcaster ( TVB ). Although Tong was subject to the competition and only finished in the top 12, she still got an actor contract.
Subsequently, Tong acted in various television productions, but was mostly limited to smaller roles. She only gained greater fame in 2005 with the television series Life Made Simple (阿旺 新 傳). For her performance of Li Siu-Ho , she was named Best Supporting Actress at the TVB 37th Anniversary Awards .
