Angelo Schirinzi

Angelo Schirinzi (born November 5, 1972 in Basel ) is the player -coach of the Swiss men's beach soccer team.

Life

Schirinzi is a trained football coach and has the highest Swiss coaching diplomas (UEFA Pro license). Angelo Schirinzi wrote the textbook on beach soccer on behalf of FIFA and helped implement and train coaches for beach soccer in the respective national associations in Mauritius, Ivory Coast, the Solomon Islands, Iran, Tahiti and Oman.

The national team caused a sensation by winning the silver medal at the 2009 FIFA World Cup in Dubai . Dejan Stankovic was the first Swiss to win the coveted trophies as the best player in the World Cup (FIFA Golden Boot) and as the top scorer (FIFA Golden Ball). Another success was winning the European Championship in 2005 and the title of the European Beach Soccer League in 2012.

Schirinzi has led Switzerland at 4 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups since 2009 (2009 Dubai, United Arab Emirates; 2011 Ravenna, Italy; 2015 Espinho, Portugal and 2017 Nassau, Bahamas). In 2015 Switzerland qualified for the first European Olympic Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. Switzerland has played in the A group of the Euroleague since 2004.

In 2013, Schirinzi surprised the sports world with tahiti. Out of nowhere, Angelo Schirinzi brought the island nation to fourth place in the FIFA World Cup in Tahiti. Li Fung Kuee was honored as the third best player in the World Cup. As an award, Schirinzi was honored with the "Chevalier de Tahiti Nui".

At club level, Schirinzi won the Swiss Championship and the Swiss Cup as a player-coach with the Sable Dancers. As a player, he played for Lazio Beach Soccer and Pisa Beach Soccer. As a trainer, he became Russian champion with BSC Kristall in 2018.

Angelo Schirinzi completed his Matura in Basel in 1994 and then studied law at the University of Basel. He has been married since 1997 and has four children.
