Angiras
Angiras ( Sanskrit अंगिरस् aṅgiras m.) Is one of the seven wise men ( saptarishi ) in Hinduism and, according to some sources, is considered to be their head. Several hymns of the Rig Veda are dedicated to him.

In the myth Angiras is considered the spirit-born son of Brahma . His wives are Smriti ("memory"), Shraddha ("belief"), Svadha ("sacrifice") and Sati ("truth"), his sons are Samvarta, Utathya and Brihaspati , with whom he is sometimes equated. He is also the progenitor of the Angirasas.
Angirasas
The semi-divine priestly family of the Angirasas descends from Angiras. These are associated with celestial phenomena and special fires. They are protectors of sacrificial acts.
