The 2014 attack on Jinnah International Airport occurred on June 8, 2014 when 10 attackers attacked Jinnah International Airport in Karachi , Pakistan . 36 people were killed in the attack, including all 10 attackers. 18 people were injured.

The Jinnah international Airport is one of the largest airports in Pakistan. The Pakistan International Airlines has its headquarters at the airport. The airport is used for many domestic and international flights. The attack was the first major incident at the airport in many years. The last major incident was the hijacking of the Pan American World Airways plane in 1986.

The attack began on June 8, 2014 at 11:10 a.m. and lasted until June 9, 4:00 a.m. The attackers split into two groups, passed two checkpoints and attacked the cargo terminal. The attackers were disguised as security forces and wore airport security force uniforms. Some attackers tried to hijack a plane, but failed. The Airport Security Force engaged in an exchange of fire with the terrorists. Eight terrorists were killed during the exchange of fire. The other 2 terrorists blew themselves up. The attack ended after 5 hours; 36 people were killed. 7 corpses burned beyond recognition were recovered from the airport. After the attack, it was revealed that 4 aircraft were damaged. The PIA denied damage to its aircraft. The media assumed that the aircraft were slightly damaged. Two warehouses where NATO supplies were stored burned out. After the attack, the airport was placed under the control of the civil aviation authority and the ASF. Four unknown terrorists attacked the Airport Security Forces academy on June 10, exactly two days after the attack on Jinnah Airport. Security forces raided and arrested two men. There were no injuries or deaths in the attack. Flight operations at Jinnah Airport were temporarily suspended.
