Aniline point

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The aniline point (AP) gives an indication of the aromatic content and is a widely specified parameter for lubricants.

detection

It is the temperature (in ° C) at which a single-phase and therefore clear mixture of equal volume fractions of a lubricant or lubricant or oil with aniline becomes cloudy again when it cools down due to separation.

The higher the aromatic content of the tested oil, the lower the aniline point.
